New signing and late arrival Dave Hopkins made an impressive debut for Luton Invicta 2 for the match with Boxley 1. The all action former Parkwood player beat Lyndon Gurr in 4, came back from 2 legs down and saved a match point against Barry Roles and withstood a typical Gary Hentschel fightback to secure his hatrick. However, visitors Boxley, won all other points on offer as Hentschel, Roles and Gurr all beat Luton Captain Tony Boarer and the often unlucky Mick Barber. The Doubles was very finely balanced at 2 legs each but unfortunately the home side had to concede the deciding leg due to time restraints at their Social Club venue.
