Both these sides had 100% records before this match, Upnor had won all their matches and Rainham had lost all theirs. That is still the situation, as Upnor ran out 7-3 winners and now top Div 1, whilst Rainham are bottom at this early stage. Peter Worthington and Shane Jarrett didnt really have to break sweat to record very comfortable trebles and also took the Doubles in 4 legs. Teammate Dave Gracey had a much tougher evening losing out to John Coleman in 4 legs, and also going down in the decider to both Mike Ingram and Mick Hambelton, who fought back from 2 legs adrift.
