For the 2nd match running, Chatham Dorset were denied a victory by a loss in the Doubles. Nevertheless this was their 4th consecutive unbeaten match and there were some notable victories for the home side. First Julian Barker beat Ross Childs, a player who before the match, sat 50 plus percentage points above him in the averages. Then Phil Humphries pulled off another surprise, thrashing Dave Hopkins 3 straight. Phil had only just lost to Ross earlier in the evening so was in fine form also beating Mick Barber to gain the Player of the Match Award. Julian also beat Mick for his first brace of an improving season for the Pen-holder. Dorset's 3rd player, Claire Blackman, lost to Dave and Ross but also did for the luckless Barber. The Doubles was incredibly close with 4 deuce legs, but Ross and Mick just got home 17-15 in the 5th to snatch the draw.
