This match was a rehearsal for the Jim Bradford Consolation Final which these two teams will contest in about 3 weeks time and Boxley will be hoping for a similar outcome. It has to be said that the home side had a very large share of nets and edges to help them to the 8-2 result with Gary Hentschel and Barry Roles going unbeaten. Mick Hambelton and Mike Ingram did both beat Lyndon Gurr for Rainham's two points but Gurr recovered to defeat John Coleman and then  team up with Roles to take the Doubles deuce in the 5th which sort of summed up the visitors' evening. They will need one point in their last match against Luton next week to avoid the Div One bottom spot.
