Phil Hayes was Rainham's only solo success on a difficult night for the newcomers although they showed that they can play by winning the doubles, again with the help of Phil.  The Upnor trio of the evergreen Steve McNally, Brenda Aherne and Colin Hutchins(nice to see the old names back after all the troubles) had a fairly comfortable night with Steve getting three and Brenda and Colin both getting braces.  Eddie and Brian of Rainham showed fight but were outgunned by the Upnor trio.
