At the start of this match Furious would probably have taken the draw which they achieved thanks to a captain's performance from James Townsend who got a good treble with wins over Bob Ellis, Steve Neilson and Mick Sheppard.  Mike Carlyle won two for Furious, only losing to Steve but Kevin Towner couldn't get the win which would have given Furious the victory as Steve Neilson won his other two games and Bob and Mick both got singles and Boxley took the doubles in four to force a hard fought draw.
