Cumberland picked up an impressive 7,3 victory over Sturdee with star player Jamie Somerset picking up a treble. Dean Chipperfield posted a brace and was halted from his maximum by Tim Vaughan, but only just.
Tim saved two match points to win 15,13 in the fifth. New player Steve Carter posted his first win of the season, just edging out Ian Parkes, 14,12 in the decider. Tim Vaughan couldn't quite complete his maximum and it was an epic encounter with Jamie Somerset, the latter winning 11,6 in the fifth. Dave Bonner took out Carter in four, for his first win of the campaign and Jamie Somerset & Dean  Chipperfield teamed up in the doubles and came from two one down against Tim Vaughan & Dave Bonner to win 11,6 at the death, to secure the 7,3 scoreline
