Sturdee produced an excellent result over a strong Belfast side. Wayne Youngs and Tim Vaughan both picked up maximums. The former starter proceedings with a hard fought fourth leg win over inform Charlie Cook and continued with a 11,8 fifth leg win over Jamie Somerset, before overcoming Segun Ake three straight.
The latter had  a match point against Tim Vaughan after being two legs up, but the Sturdee player never knows when he is beaten, just edging home, 15,13 in the decider. Dave Bonner has been losing alot of close encounters this season, and this was no exception,  Charlie Cook winning 11,9 , the last two legs, but he did have some consolation on the night, picking off Segun Ake in four
