Match Report

Luton just managed to edge this thrilling encounter, with a staggering six matches going the distance.
Jack Coleman played up for Luton and was in inspired form, picking up a maximum which went a long way in securing Luton's victory. His first match against Dean Chipperfield he managed to fight hard to win in four, then a three leg victory over Trevor Towers, followed but a 11,2 fifth leg win over Abbie Hurley.
The latter played out another two fifth leggers, defeating Ross Childs 11,6 in the fifth and more impressive, William Wrapson 11,9 at the death. Abbie's form will delight captain Trevor Towers and it will strengthen their side in the upcoming weeks. The captain was then responsible for the most amazing first legger against Ross Childs, finally winning it 20,18, although he made heavy work, apparently squandering about 6 game points!.
This was followed by a narrow 12,10 third leg which was enough to secure another point for Cumberland
Dean Chipperfield wasn't at the races although he did manage to defeat a luckless Ross Childs, once again in the fifth, 11,5 final leg. Will Wrapson posted a brace and did well to fight back against Dean Chipperfield winning the last two legs 11,7, 11,8.
