Match Report
Cliff Woods went into the last match knowing they needed a big win to finish second and that's exactly what happened with a 10.0 whitewash of Belfast. Dave McAulay and Charlie Cook started proceedings and it was cat and mouse throughout the match with Charlie Cook looking on course with a 9,6 lead in the fifth but Skippy had a slice of luck!, with a couple of edges, to just take it 12,10. Alan Longhurst won all his fairly comfortably, not losing a leg and Charlie Cook played well in patches against Paul Cronin, taking a leg 11,6 before the Cliff player showed all his class, to win in four. Brian Lees powered past Dave McAulay 11,4, first leg but ran out of steam before pulling it back to a fifth. The Chatham played then fought back from 9,3 down in the fifth, only to lose 11,9!. Segun Ake And Skippy was the match of the night, with some terrific hitting by the chatham player, but the latter wasn't to be denied, winning the last two legs 12,10, 16,14 to just edge it in four
