Cliffe Woods openned their season with an 8-2 victory over hosts Luton Inv 2 with Peter Mortley going undefeated in singles and Doubles. He was well supported by braces for both Andy Larner and Alan Bridle who this season has dropped down from the Premier. Alan was denied an openning hatrick by a brilliant comeback from Ross Childs who also beat Andy for the hosts 2nd point. Captain, Tony Boarer, was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, going down in the 5th to Andy after being 2-1 up in legs. Mary Ball completed the Luton line-up, stepping up from Div 2, and did take a leg off Alan.
