With Chatham Endurance's record of close matches and long rallies this match was unlikely to be completed by the 10.30pm deadline at Luton Invicta, and so it proved, as the home side had to concede the Doubles. Luton still ran out 7-3 winners as Ross Childs once again displayed his fighting qualities coming back from 2 legs down to defeat Gareth Fox in the opening game and then seeing off Claire Blackman and Zhong Jiao Tan both over 4 legs. Claire is also a tough battler, however, and beat Dave Hopkins in the 5th after saving a match point. Gareth bounced back from the Ross' defeat by outlasting Ian Sayer in another very close game but Ian won his other 2 as did Dave. Tan, who was stepping up from the 2nd Division, played very well taking legs off all the home side's much more experienced players.
