Match Report
Boxley 1 have had a tough start to the 2nd half of the season playing all of the top 4 in consecutive matches and this week took another heavy beating at the hands of Chatham Endurance who were 4th but have moved up to 3rd with this result. Endurance Skipper, Gareth Fox, was in unstoppable form landing his forehand loop at will and only dropping a single leg (to Gary Hentschel) who had beaten him earlier in the season. Pen-holder Julian Barker is a rarity in the modern game but is a skillful exponent of the art finding difficult angles and impressive winners and beat Hentschel and Lyndon Gurr both in 4 legs only losing to Barry Roles over the same distance in a very close contest. Claire Blackman completed the Endurance line-up with a typical determined display to beat Gurr in straight legs and had 5 leg tussles with both Hentschel and Roles. The latter was able to thwart her hatrick bid for his 2nd win of the night. The Doubles was also a 5 leg contest which the away side secured to complete the 8-2 result.
