Congratulations to Howard 2, who with one match still to play, are Champions of Div One and will deservedly return to the Premier next season having come down last season. This week's victims were Rainham 2 who lost by the same scoreline(1-9) as when these two sides met back in November. Not for the first time this season, Tim Davie caused a surprise, when he defeated Tony Bull coming back from losing the first 2 legs to record the host's sole point. They were, however, unlucky not to add to their total as in the battle of the two Johns, Coleman held a 2 leg advantage over Kane, before the Howard man won the last 3 legs. The Doubles was also close as Coleman and Mick Hambelton were just pipped by Kane and Player of the Match Roger Morley who moves up to 3rd in the individual averages with his latest hatrick.
