Match Report

Rainham 3 were made to work hard for their narrow victory against Sturdee 3 which was only secured by a 5th leg Doubles success. The 6 points gained means they are level on points with Cliffe Woods 2 in 2nd spot in Div One but are above them by virtue of matches won. Mathematically it is still possible for both Chatham Dorset and Luton Inv 2 to catch them and coincidentally they play each other next week in a rearranged fixture. In this match Alan Morton completed another hatrick and finishes the season with only one defeat. He has only lost 4 times in two seasons a model of consistency. Georgi Atanasov has provided solid support and only lost to Andy Marchant over the distance. Rainham's 3rd player, Sam Woodcock, has battled back to fitness but was unable to get much joy out of Jill Shipton and Paul Snaith but took Andy all the way before going down in the 5th, thereby completing a good brace for Andy. Sturdee finish in 9th position in the table comfortably above the relegation places.
