Match Report

Chatham Dorset inflicted a 2nd defeat in consecutive weeks on Cliffe Woods 2 thereby ending Woods' quest for the Div One runners-up spot but at the same time keeping their own slim hopes alive. Dorset called up Perry Oliver for this important match and he didnt disappoint only dropping one leg (to Alan Bridle) on his way to the Player of the Match Award. Jacob Goodchild bounced back from last week's blank against the same Woods' line up to beat all three of them this week, an impressive turnaround. Trevor Towers has been on a long winning spree stretching back to September but came unstuck against Bridle and Mike Kemlo in this match. Peter Mortley had a rare blank night for the hosts. Dorset will need 8 points from their final rearranged match against Luton Inv 2 next week to nick the Div One 2nd spot.
