This match had been held over because of the snow but both teams showed no signs of suffering due to the Christmas break.  Although both teams are in the bottom half of the table there were no signs off this as this was a very hard fought contest with John Caplen of Rainham emerging as the star player of the night although he did it the hard way, coming back from 2-0 down to beat Malcolm Kay and 2-1 down to beat Jon Jennings.  He was backed up by a brace from Bob Mahon who beat John Allen and Malcolm.  The only player to emerge from this with no points was Steve Hayes who can consider himself a bit unlucky to lose to Malcolm having been 2-0 up.  Steve did get a bit of consolation as he partnered John Caplen to a four sets doubles win that sealed the 6-4 victory.
