Although Rainham won this encounter the plaudits must go to Kathy Hall of Upnor who got all three of Upnors points with a fine treble against a good Rainham team of John Caplen, Steve Hayes and Bob Mahon.  The Rainham trio went on to each get a brace meaning that Brenda Aherne and Gavin Burch went winless and Rainham went on to win the doubles in straight sets to complete the 7-3 win
