Due to the vaguaries of the system the player of the match was Paul Paulding who had to take on high-flying Luton on his own due to late withdrawals due to sickness.  Paul lost to Dennis McConkey who would probably have completed a treble if Boxley had had three players.  Paul completed the rest of his games by beating Mary Ball and Dave Murtagh to earn his side two points against the odds.
