Upnor 'A' began life in the Premier with an excellent performance against Sturdee 1. Only a defeat in the final doubles match swung the result 6-4 in favour of Sturdee as Wayne Matthews and Tim Vaughan just pipped Upnor (Shane Jarrett and Peter Worthington) in a 5 legger.

Wayne Matthews hat-trick included two 5 legs victories against Peter Worthington and Shane Jarrett as he denied Jarrett the chance of a 100% start to the season. Only Dave Bonner ended the evening empty handed.
