Match Report

A terrific match which lasted a lifetime! with Cliff calling up Peter Mortley from division 1 who wasn't overawed, playing well to produce a brilliant fifth set triumph over the usually reliable Jamie Somerset, coming back from two down to win 11,8 in the fifth. Matt Emery picked up a maximum but was made to fight, winning 11,6 in the fifth over Abbie Hurley and 12,10 in the fifth over Dean Chipperfield, almost squandering a 10,6 lead in the fifth. The latter was in tremendous form, posting a brace and defeating his nemesis, Alan Longhurst in four brilliant legs. The doubles was won by Belfast to make their defeat more respectable
