A good battle at Luton, saw the home side prevail 6-4 over visitor's Rainham 2. Dave Hopkins was in Player of the Match form recording a useful treble for Invicta only dropping single legs to Mick Hambelton and John Coleman. Ian Sayer added two wins only losing out to Tim Davie in the decider, the same fate suffered by Ross Childs. Ross had a busy night as all his singles went the distance, losing to Mick but coming back from 2 legs adrift to defeat Coleman. John did get on the scoresheet, helping Tim to a surprising straight legs win in the Doubles over the usually reliable partnership of Hopkins/Childs.
