A 2nd successive 1-9 defeat for Boxley 1, this week at the hands of Div One highflyers Cliffe Woods 2. The usual line-up of Lyndon Gurr, Barry Roles and Gary Hentschel battled hard with little reward until the 8th singles when Hentschel beat Mike Kemlo to get a point on the board for the hosts. Earlier Mike had beaten Gurr in 4 legs and came back from 2-1 down in legs to dispose of Roles. Dave Lewis and Alan Bridle helped themselves to hatricks; Dave with his heavy chops and accurate attacks and Alan with his impressive range of shots and ball control including the twirling arm forehand smash ! Woods now have a 2 point lead at the top of Div One but play 2nd placed Rainham 1 next week.
