A good battle between last season's promoted sides but the current bottom two in Div One ended with the points shared. Luton must have thought they were on course for their first win of the season when they led 5-2 through a Dennis McConkey hatrick and singles for Mick Barber and Dave Murtagh (both over Nathan Round). However, James Townsend and Alex Low won their last two singles and then staged a great comeback in the Doubles taking it 17-15 in the 5th leg to earn the draw. In total 6 of the 10 contests required a 5th leg which illustrates the closeness of this match. The 5 points gained by both sides was not enough to lift them out of the drop zone.
