Mid-table Boxley 1 made League One leaders, Cliffe Woods 2, fight for their victory in a match that finished well after 11pm. They eventually came away with 8 points which gives them a 5 point lead over their nearest rivals Rainham 1 who they play next week in the final match of the season. Peter Mortley and Mike Kemlo just about got trebles, the former just edging the 5th leg 11-9 against Barry Roles and the latter grittily coming back from 2 legs down to beat Gary Hentschel. The host's 3rd player, Dave Lewis, watched by well behaved canine companion Decker, beat Lyndon Gurr but lost out to Hentschel and Roles. Cliffe can afford to lose next week's match 7-3 and still be crowned Champions.
