The match turned out to be a very hard fought win for Howard with a couple of shocks along the way. Not one player picked up a maximum, with braces from Roger Morley, Alex Clarke & Tony Bull. The first match of the night was a classic with Alex Clarke just pipping Julien Barker to the post,  12,10, 11,8, 14,16, 9,11, 11,9. The Cumberland player can count himself unlucky,also going down in five to Tony Bull, 11,4 in the fifth.  His hard work was rewarded though, picking up his first win of the season, with a brilliant four leg victory over Roger Morley. Cumberland called up reserve David East and he wasn't to be outshone, with a surprise three leg triumph over Tony Bull.  This seem to inspire capatain Gareth Fox who halted Alex's Clarke charge to a treble, winning 11,9, 12,12, 11,6.
