Although Ark Royal were 10 0 winners over Cumberland, they didn't have it all their way.  Stuart Fritter, Martin Birley and Perry Oliver all had to show their class.  Martin Birley defeated Julian Barker three straight, but the last two legs were not easy, 18,16, 11,6. The latter looked like he would spring a surprise going two legs up on Perry Oliver, 11,7, 11,8, but then the Ark Royal player rallied, winning 11,9, 11,9, 11,6, harsh on the Cumberalnd player, who will look to stop the rot of fifth  leg losses in the new year. Slaveyko Arnaudov managed to win the first leg against Martin, 11,8, before losing in four, a good effort though. Stuart Fritter was man of the match, not losing a leg all night.
