Howard 1 took another step on their way to retaining the title with a whitewash of Belfast. Simon Forest, Ian Gordon and Alan Watson lost just one leg between  them in the singles, with Shev Macdonald winning 11,9 in leg three against Simon Forest, before being defeated in four. Belfast called up Julian Barker from Cumberland and he did play well, losing one leg 12,10 against Alan Watson and getting 8 points a leg against Simon Forest. Jacob Goodchild couldn't repeat his heroics of the last two matches, but all good experience.
