Nothing could separate the teams in this hard fought encounter. Wayne Matthews picked up a treble and was supported by Tim Vaughan, who posted a brace. First divsion player Dean Chipperfield played up for Chatham and registered two good wins, four close legs against Tim Vaughan and four against Sturdee 2 player Dave Bonner. Tim did help himself to a double, a great three leg triumph over an out of sorts Martin Birley and four fairly comfortable legs over Stuart Fritter.  Wayne's lost just one leg in his hatrick, Dean surprisingly winning one leg 11,5, before being outsmarted.
