A terrific match at the Howard with no outright winner. Jack Roberts turned out for Luton and picked up a brilliant treble, without losing a leg. He was supported by Andy Roberts who registered a brace, only going down to Ian Gordon 11,5 in the decider.  Andy and Graham French produced the match of the night, close legs in all the five, which the former just edged 16,14 at the death. John Kane, who has been in pretty good form  was plucked from Howard 2 and didn't disappoint, just pipping Terry Clapperton 14,12 in the fifth and saving a match point in the process. Howard managed to win the doubles in four to secure the draw.
