Match Report

A first ever match between these two clubs ended in a share of the points. Boxley were dreaming of a 2nd win of the season as they raced into a 4-1 lead when Barry Roles and Gary Hentschel both won their opening two encounters against Mark Vickery and Alastair James and Mark and Paul Wilson, respectively. Wyvern then staged a comeback as all three of their players beat Steve Neilson who was borrowed for the night from the 2nd team to complete the visitor's line-up. Steve did well to take legs off both Mark and Paul but ultimately went home unrewarded from Borden Village Hall. Roles completed his hatrick with a last gasp 12-10 5th leg win against Paul and with Hentschel losing in 4 legs to Alastair it was all on the Doubles. The hosts took this to secure the draw, a fair result on the night.
