Match Report

Sturdee 2 needed the Doubles to grab a draw and stay 2nd as they kicked off the post Christmas matches at Bluebell village Hall, home of Boxley 1. The hosts started brightly when Gary Hentschel and Barry Roles won their opening games in straight legs against Andy Marchant and Peter Stokes, respectively. In fact Boxley were never behind in this match which was a bit of a surprise given the 20 point difference between the sides in the Div One table. Hentschel went on to complete a hatrick (his 2nd in consecutive matches) and Roles added a 2nd win against Jas Plaha. Sturdee's best scorer was Andy Marchant who beat Roles and Boxley's 3rd player, Steve Neilson. Steve was out of luck on the night also losing to Jas and League Chairman Stokes over 5 legs.
