The top two teams in division two faced each other this week at the Howard Centre, the home thirds gaining the win against Luton Invicta III. All started well for the visitors as Steve Reeves got past Luqman Abolaji and Dennis McConkey won the first two legs against Sam Mustapha. However Sam recovered to take the next three legs and set off a winning home sequence, led by an unbeaten Neville Forsyth. Seven one down Dennis showed all of his experience to master Luqman 14-12 in the fifth, before he and Steve won a battling doubles after five fluctuating ends. In the middle section, Phil Midgely found each of the Howard trio too consistent to register any wins.
