Hector entertained Rainham IV this week and it began to look like a late night after John Allen beat Phil Hayes 13-11 in the fifth, Johm Caplen countering 17-15 in the decider against Ronit Banerjee, then Oliver East winning 3 legs to 2 against the vastly experienced Jim Davie, to restore the home side's narrow advantage. Things settled down after that, Jim beating Ronit and John A, Phil also getting the nod against Ronit and Oliver and John A accounting for John C in game nine. Hector were however denied the draw as Rainham were steady enough to claim the doubles and a 6-4 match win.
