The first week of the H2O Rowhedge Handicap Summer League (2014) saw 4-1 wins for both H2O Rowhedge A (John Andrews & Tom Lewis) and defending champions Gt. Horkesley A (Steve Holland & Peter Witton) over H2O Rowhedge E and Tollgate A respectively. Both John Andrews and Steve Holland being unbeaten.
The two Pegasus teams faced each other, the A team winning 3-2 with Mike Tracey winning his brace of singles. H2O Reapers, fielding 2 reserves, had a 3-2 win over Gt. Horkesley B (Denise Thompson & Josh Sidki) with all of the games going the full distance. The clash between the H2O Rowhedge teams, B & D, saw the all important doubles go to the B team (Martin Lewis & Roger Clarke). A winning debut here for Ken James, yes, father of Rik, which saw him win both his singles, using his handicap to it's fullest advantage.
It is apparent that a few of the handicaps will need a slight adjustment which will make it more interesting next week.
