Week 4 Report | |||||||||
Rowhedge A (Roger Clarke & Martin Lewis) extended their 100% record with a narrow win over Tollesbury Titans (Tom Lewis & Rob King) with Roger Clarke recording another maximum. Rowhedge B (Mark Glenister & Pawel Szermo) also had a narrow win over Zeroabove (Rik & Ken James) although they couldn't get the better of Rik who won both his singles. The all Tollgate clash proved very one-sided and very vocal as Denise Thompson & Jenny Clarke crushed Daryl Lott and Martyn Green 5-0. Rowhedge C (Chloe Andrews & Jared Chelski) had a 4-1 win over Reapers (Oli Reynolds & Lajos Zsisku) with the youngsters winning both their singles each but losing out in the doubles 22-20 & 21-19. Gt. Horkesley (Steve Holland & Phil Wolski) beat Pegasus A 4-1 with Stan Flint taking the very first game over Phil Wolski but it proved to be their only success of the evening. Essex Blades (Wudong Liu & Lawrance Chan Long Hei), still without a win, lost to Pegasus B (Vic Little & Kevin Turner) although Wudong won both his singles without dropping a set.With next week being the half-way stage it is still anyone's title and although Rowhedge A are 2 points clear at the moment a loss of their 100% record could put 4 teams on equal points at the top. Essex Blades and Tollgate A need to start winning in order to keep in touch with the others and Tollgate certainly won't want to finish at the bottom for the 3rd. year in succession. |
