Week 5 Report

Essex Blades (Wudong Liu & Lawrance Chan Long Hei), at the 5th. time of asking, finally secured a win at the expense of Gt. Horkesley A (Phil Wolski & Matt Rogers) by 4-1. Matt Rogers beating Lawrance for their only win. Tollgate A (Martyn Green & Roger Hance), the only team now without a win, were pushed aside by the youngsters of Rowhedge C (Chloe Andrews & Jared Chelski) 4-1. Their consolation coming in the doubles where the youngsters seem to struggle somewhat. Leaders Rowhedge A (Nigel Claydon & Roger Clarke), still 100%, beat the ladies from Tollgate B (Denise Thompson & Jenny Clarke) 4-1. Is there a team out there good enough to relinquish them of their unbeaten record? Elsewhere, Tollesbury Titans came from 0-2 down to beat Reapers 3-2 as did Rowhedge B (Kamil Lentas & Pawel Szermo) in beating Pegasus B ( Vic Little & Helen Woolnough). Finally Pegasus A (Steve Noble & Stan Flint) beat Zeroabove (Ken & Lauren James). 4-1.Next week sees Rowhedge A & C teams clash. Will this hot up the league title with a C team win? Or will an A team win put the C team out of contention? And can Tollgate A finally manage a win? Pegasus B will be their opponents.
