Wk 3 Report

Handicaps played a big part in this weeks matches and, it seems, further adjustments are still needed. Tollesbury Titans (Tom Lewis & Rob King) found the deficit too great against Rowhedge B (Kemil Lentas & Mark Glenister), and whilst Rob King, to his credit, tried exceptionally hard he couldn't quite climb the mountain. Rowhedge B winning 5-0. Rowhedge A (Nigel Claydon & Roger Clarke) maintained their 100% record by beating Gt. Horkesley A (Phil Wolski & Kevin Lines) 4-1 and go 2 points clear at the top. Rowhedge C ( Alan Burgess & Jared Chelski) narrowly beat Pegasus A (Steve Noble & Trevor Treharne) 3-2. Pegasus, fighting back from a 2-0 deficit, only to lose in the last game. Together they are two of six teams on 4 points. Zeroabove (Ken & Lauren James) beat Tollgate A (Martyn Green & Karl Baldwin) 3-2 with Lauren again winning both her singles, and the doubles, in straight sets. Pegasus B (Vic Little & Kevin Turner) beat Reapers (Oli Reynolds & Lajos Zsisku) 3-2 with the first set of the doubles going in the favour of Pegasus 36-34. Some sort of milestone that score. Tollgate B (Denise Thompson & Jenny Clarke) beat Essex Blades (Wudong Liu & Chester Chung) 4-1 with the Blades losing 2 games in the final set 17-21 & 20-22. So near to their first win but, unfortunately not quite. Next week sees Tollesbury Titans matched with Rowhedge A so can Tollesbury take their 100% record away? Elsewhere the 2 Tollgate sides clash. So can Tollgate A record their 1st. win of the season? And can Essex Blades record their 1st. win of the campaign against Pegasus B? Next week beckons.
