In Division Five, Shaun Alvey (Albert Premier ‘B’) extended his unbeaten run to 27 wins from nine outings, during the whitewashing of Hallam Grange ‘D’. Albert Premier now leads their nearest rivals High Green

'B' by seven clear points.

Double delight was achieved by the girls as the team comprising Laura Hart, Ella Bowman, Emily Crowley and Layla Mackay overcame Bramley Sunnyside in the final 6-2.

The event was managed by Jim Kenny and Phil Wright of the Sheffield table tennis league.

All players may sample their first two attendances for free, the sessions can be used for social play, coached activity or practice.  This initiative will be overseen by Alan Lowe who will be on hand to feed and advise as required.

Unbeaten Abbeydale ‘H’ claimed both points on a trip to High Green ‘A’ as Brian Allen and Brian Armitage both went undefeated during an 8-2 victory in Division Four.

In a match that ended with honours even, Tom Clarke (Abbey Vipers) took a treble against “Albert” with wins over Ross Stewart-Young, Christian Oughton and Noah Van Hoorebeek to finish the day undefeated.

A new table tennis initiative has been established at the Birley Academy school gymnasium, for the benefit of beginners, newcomers and established league players.

Twelve tables will be available for sessions to be held every Thursday evening from 6.00pm till 7.45pm.
