Batmen extended their lead at the top of the first division winning 9-1 against Brixham Gulls, while second placed Brixham Sharks dropped 2 points, winning 8-2 at Newton Bishops. While Stam Kioufis remains unbeatable for the Sharks both Adam Shipway and Jazmin Johns had close matches. Connor Adams lost narrowly in 5 sets to both Adam & Jazmin, while Jim McIvor & Scott Jessop both got the better of Jazmin in close games.  Third placed Torbay Academy I comprehensively whitewashed the Battlers, closing the gap on the top two. Dan Brewer dropped a couple of games but Patrik Cincala & Kris Piwowar didn’t drop a game all night.  Halwell got back to winning ways with a fine victory over the improving Dawlish Aces: Dave Wadling was again unbeaten for Halwell.

With the top two in Division 2 having a week off, Bishops Academicals closed the gap at the top with a 7-3 victory over Brixham Pirates.  An injury to Doug Morgan led to the transfer of Robert Stephens into the Academicals side, but his lack of match practice showed as the Pirates all got the better of him, Andy Tyrrell & Mike Coxhead both getting maximums for Academicals.  Tykes and Marldon fought out an epic encounter, at 4-4 it could’ve gone either way. Tykes’ Chris Garner got the better of Graham Holmes in the last singles, then with Kevin Ayling took the final double 15-13 in the fifth set to win the match for the Tykes 6-4.  Kevin Ayling thus winning all his matches for the Tykes.

The top two sides in Division 3, Marldon Badgers & Torbay Academy III, each had comfortable 9-1 wins, so the gap at the top remains at 2 points in favour of the Marldon side and they still have a game in hand over their rivals.  Dawlish Drifters had a fine 7-3 win over Brixham Rebels despite a maximum for the Rebels’ Richard Johns.
