Reigning champions Brixham Sharks, led by Stamatis Kioufis, starting his 4th season in the league & still undefeated, opened up with an impressive 9-1 win over Torbay Table Tennis Academy II who are finding it tough in the top flight. However the Academy's 1st team are the early leaders following a 9-1 victory over Brixham Gulls. Dawlish Aces put a strong side out against NA Batmen and came away with a 6-4 victory, Rory Harries making his first start for the Aces and gaining a maximum. Brixham Trawlers had a fine 8-2 victory at Halwell with Clive Banham again impressing for the Trawlers.
Taverners are making the early running in Division Two, their 7-3 victory over Marldon helped by Marldon fielding only two players. Torbay Table Tennis Academy III drew at Brixham against the Swallows and NA Eagles shared the spoils at Marldon Tykes. The Academy's Paul Hine and Tykes' Kevin Ayling both with maximums.
In the 3rd Division an encounter between 2 of the fancied sides ended with the points being shared between Denbury Tykes and Dawlish Diamonds, with David Davies gaining a maximum for the Diamonds. A Steve Munns maximum for Brixham Rebels helped in their 7-3 victory over stablemates Panthers, and Hasbeens whitewashed Brixham Swifts.
The early running in the 4th Division is being made by Brixham Dolphins who came away from Newton Abbot with a 7-3 victory over the Kestrels, with Nick Shipley gaining a maximum for the Dolphins. Torbay Table Tennis Academy V changed all their players following their defeat last week and whitewashed NA Owls 10-0. Torbay Table Tennis Academy IV started their campaign with a 7-3 victory over newcomers NA Hawks, despite the efforts of Dan Webster-Hall who was undefeated for the Hawks.
