National Table Tennis Day
Celebrating together
On Thursday, 16th July 2015 over fifty table tennis players came together to celebrate the day. The players, from across the whole of South West Devon came to Torbay Table Tennis Academy to have fun and training. Participants attended from Torquay, Brixham , Paignton, Newton Abbot, Exeter, Okehampton, Ivybridge, Chaddlewood, Totnes, Dawlish and Plymouth.
The players were divided into two groups, beginners /children and League players, from all Divisions. The Junior players played for points with the League players receiving one hour of training and then a further hour playing for points.
The standard of tt on the day was very high and it was great to see. The day was also an opportunity to congratulate Liz May, Chaddlewood club, for achieving two Active Devon Awards – "Volunteer of the Year" and "Outstanding contribution to the sport" through her Pink Pong charity project for which a collection was made on the day. Congratulations Miss May once again !
Our very great thanks to you all for helping us make this day so special and thank you also for your great generosity in donating £92 to the charity. Well done !!!
