All teams have a two-week break from competition over Christmas and the New Year, so no results, just a review on where the League competition stands.
Pre-season favourites Torbay Academy 1 lead NA Batmen in the First Division by 9 points, which will be very difficult to pull back, especially with Paul Myatt added to the Academy’s squad. The Batmen, with a good number of League titles in the locker, will not give up, but this Academy team looks stronger than any teams seen in this League for many years. Brixham Sharks, always very competitive, trail in third place. Academy 1 skipper Kris Piwowar, has yet to be beaten and leads the averages, while Newton Abbots’ Kevin Nicholls and Dennis Gibbs sit 2nd and 3rd behind Piwowar.

It’s a similar story in the 2nd Division with a Torbay Academy team top, and a Newton Abbot team 2nd. However it couldn’t be closer, with Academy 3 level on 58 points with NA Eagles, only ahead of the Eagles on games won. They have opened up a 13 point gap on 3rd placed Brixham Imports. The Academy’s Herbie Sage has a 100% record and sits at the top of the averages. Team mate Michael Hernandez is 2nd, with NA Eagles captain Andy Tyrrell in 3rd place.

In the 3rd Division Newton Abbot have got the upper hand as NA Hawks lead Torbay Academy 4 by 8 points, with Denbury Tykes not far off the pace just behind. These three sides are very evenly matched so this Division is still wide open. The top 8 places in the averages come from these 3 teams with the Academy’s Jakub Piwowar sitting at the top still unbeaten. Denbury Tykes’ Pat Darch is 2nd with the Eagles’ Doug Morgan 3rd.

Perhaps the closest and most interesting division is the Fourth. Torbay Academy 5 lead, with Torre Tigers and NA Ospreys hot on their heels with just 3 points separating the top three. Torre Tigers’ Stephen Tucker leads the averages with Newton Abbots’ Travis Graham & Dale Fabian just behind.
