Mike Harper Memorial Event
Brixham Table Tennis Club will once again be holding our pre-season annual charity event, the Mike Harper Memorial Event at Brixham Community Sports Centre, Lytes Road, Brixham. We will be trying to raise as much money as we can for the Rowcroft Hospice. This year’s event will take place on
Thursday 29th September 2016 @ 7pm-10p
This is an evening open to all and for those of you who are new to the league or haven’t come along before, we will have a very quick-fire knockout competition with a trophy and prizes up for grabs. We will be raffling off some items, have refreshments for sale (home-made cakes - any donations will be gratefully received!) and hopefully have other stuff going on to make the event as much fun as possible
We will be asking for an entry fee of £3 on the night and these and all other proceeds will be donated to the Rowcroft Hospice who helped look after our long-standing Treasurer Mike Harper during his illness back in 2011
To date, thanks to all players who have attended in the past, we have raised a whopping £1,475 in the five years of running this event. We’re looking forward to smashing through the £1,500 mark!!
It will also give a few of us a chance to dust off the bat before the new season begins the following week raising money for a great cause at the same time
We’ll be getting a schedule together in the next few days and will keep you posted, but please let me know in advance if you would like to come along so we can look at the playing format.
Don’t forget though, this is a fun fund-raising event, so you don’t have to be playing in the league this season to come along!
