Torbay Academy’s march to the First Division title continued with an 8-2 win over Brixham Gulls, as Kris Piwowar and Patrik Cincala took maximums for the Academy. With 2^nd placed NA Batmen losing to a Josh Millman-inspired Brixham Sharks, one more win for the Academy will seal the title.  Jon Cheung was in fine form for NA Buzzards, but the Newton Abbot side were held to a draw by Torbay Academy 2.

NA Eagles, with two excellent wins, have closed the gap on Torbay Academy 3 at the top of the Second Division to just one point, although the leaders have a game in hand. The Eagles’ Ed Crawford was unbeaten as they defeated the Battlers 8-2, and it was Andy Tyrrell with a maximum as the Eagles beat third-placed Brixham Pirates 7-3. Taverners have relieved their relegation worries with 2 wins over the two Marldon teams just below them in the table. Geoff Read had a maximum for the Taverners in their 8-2 win over Marldon Tykes. No Taverners could get the better of Marldon’s Helen Glover, but a fine all-round team performance from Colin Harrop, Martin Dilkes and Geoff Read saw the Taverners home to a 7-3 victory.  A fine Nick Williamson maximum for Brixham Imports helped his side to a 5-5 draw with Marldon Tykes, then the Imports came across an inspired Ed Thompson who helped his Battlers team defeat the Brixham side 7-3.

Geoff Read - Taverners

The top two teams in Division Three both had 10-0 victories. Leaders NA Hawks saw off club mates the Falcons, while 2^nd placed Torbay Academy 4 defeated Brixham Dolphins.  The two play each other in their last fixtures next week, Hawks going into the fixture 5 points in front.  In the relegation battle, Brixham Diamonds, with Keith Williams unbeaten, defeated basement side the Hasbeens 6-4, while Dawlish Diamonds, also in trouble, picked up a valuable 3 points in a 7-3 defeat by Denbury Tykes, with the Tykes’ Huw Darch gaining a maximum.
