Torbay Academy 1’s march toward the title, continuing with a comfortable 8-2 victory over 3^rd place Brixham Sharks. Kris Piwowar remains unbeaten for the Academy, whilst Sharks’ Josh Millman prevented the whitewash with fine victories over Patrik Cincala & Dan Barnett.  Second-place NA Batmen stay in touch with a 7-3 win at Dawlish against the Aces, Shaun Gibbs getting a maximum for the Batmen. A close encounter towards the foot of the table saw Torbay Academy 2 snatch victory in the final doubles over Brixham Gulls. The Academy’s Sam Perkins won all his singles and then combined with Tom Ricketts to take the doubles and the match 6-4.

NA Eagles sit, albeit temporarily, at the top of the Second Division following a 7-3 victory over Brixham Imports.  Eagles pair Ed Crawford and Jim McIvor were both unbeaten on the night.  Bottom side Marldon Tykes, with Paul Hine in fine form, picked up 5 useful points in a draw against the Battlers and are within touching distance of Taverners and Marldon.  Marldon got the better of Taverners 7-3 reversing the result from earlier in the season; Marldon’s Dave Atkin was unbeaten.

There were big wins for the top two in the Third Division, which saw the leaders NA Hawks whitewash the Hasbeens, and 2^nd placed Torbay Academy 4 defeat Brixham Diamonds 9-1. Hawks’ captain, Mike Coxhead, sat out and watched his teammates Ben Swettenham, Doug Morgan and David Doxsey comfortably see off the Hasbeens.  Brixham Diamonds failed to put out a full squad against the Academy, giving their opponents 7 sets!

Torre Tigers marched to the top of the Fourth Division with a whitewash victory over NA Owls.  Robert Excell, Steve Tucker and Rob Burridge were too strong for the Bayliss family team. Torre’s other team, Torres R Us also beat a Newton Abbot side, the Kites.  This was a much closer affair with Andrew Connor and Ann Morris winning the final doubles against Richard Salt & Lewis Short 11-9 in the 5^th, to take the match 6-4.
