In the First Division, NA Buzzards, who have had to rearrange 3 of their opening 4 fixtures due to player difficulties of their opponents, have not let the disruption affect them, as they soared to the top of the table following two consecutive whitewash victories. Sonja Ryland, Jon Cheung and Kevin Nicholls were rarely troubled as they defeated first Brixham Pirates, and, later in the week, Halwell. The Buzzards, with a six point lead at the top of the table, have played an extra game over their opponents, but with star man Jon Cheung still unbeaten, aim to pose a serious threat this season.

In a quiet week, with just rearranged matches taking place, the Second Division saw the completion of the Taverners v NA Eagles fixture that was abandoned after 5 sets earlier in the month, due to serious ill health of an Eagles player. With excellent co-operation and understanding from the Taverners team, the remaining 5 sets were played out this week, with substitutes being used by the Eagles to finish the match. The Eagles’ Jim McIvor, with a man of the 'matches' performance, saw the Eagles home to a 6-4 victory. Colin Harrop battled well for the Taverners. Torbay Academy's Tom Ricketts secured a maximum in their 5-5 draw with Marldon, who recovered from 5-3 down. Dave Atkin and Helen Glover took two wins apiece, and then combined in the doubles to earn Marldon the draw.
Maximum for NA Eagles – Jim McIvor
Marldon Tykes moved up the Third Division table with a fine 8-2 victory over NA Kestrels. Kevin Ayling had a maximum for the Tykes in a match that was closer than the score suggests.
