PRESS REPORT – Sunday 14^th Oct

Just a couple of games in the top Division this week. Herbie Sage was in top form as NA Buzzards returned from Brixham Sharks with a share of the spoils. Excellent games throughout the evening with Sharks’ Adam Shipway and Buzzard’s Kevin Nicholls also going well.  In a much more one-sided affair, Mike Kiff, Dennis and Shaun Gibbs saw NA Batmen home in a whitewash victory over Brixham Gulls.

Torbay Academy 2 have started well in the 2^nd Division, Warren Ngai and Simon Furgol with maximums as they breezed past Denbury Tykes 9-1, with Paul Hine preventing the whitewash for the Tykes.  The other two matches in this Division were close affairs as NA Eagles, with Jim McIvor unbeaten, overcame Brixham Trawlers 6-4 and Brixham Pirates defeated Marldon also 6-4, despite a fine maximum from Marldon’s Helen Glover.

Mitch Bellham has started the season well for NA Kestrels in Division 3 as they defeated Dawlish Diamonds 6-4.  There were two wins for Torbay Academy sides as their 3^rd team, with Matt Cooper on top form, beat Marldon Tykes 7-3 and their 5^th team defeated Dawlish Dolphins 9-1. Liam Wall and Neville Cregan were unbeaten for the Academy.

In the 4^th Division an Ivor Copley maximum helped his Dawlish Drifters to a 6-4 win over Torbay Academy 6.  Torre Panther’s Andrew Connor had to work really hard for his maximum against NA Owls, as all three sets went to a fifth in the Panthers 8-2 victory over the Owls.  Steve Tucker was unbeaten as his Torre Tigers defeated NA Kites.

Ivor Copley – Dawlish Drifters

More close games in the 5^th Division as NA Ospreys squeezed past Brixham Seals 6-4 thanks to a fine maximum from Benj Pead.  A Kevin Payne maximum was enough to help NA Vultures to a 6-4 win at Brixham Swifts.  6-4 was also the score as Torbay Academy 7 beat Dawlish Dodgers. Finally, NA Merlins defeated a depleted Dawlish Delights team 8-2.
