There were wins for the top three in the first division where the leaders, Torbay Academy 1 who haven’t lost a match all season, require just one more win to retain their title.  The Academy’s latest victory was a 7-3 win at Brixham against the Sharks with Kris Piwowar & Patrik Cincala unbeaten for the Academy.  Shaun Gibbs was again the difference in an all Newton Abbot clash, Shaun’s maximum seeing his Batmen home to a 6-4 victory over the Condors.  Kevin Nicholls and Herbie Sage were both unbeaten as NA Buzzards cruised to a 9-1 win over Halwell.

Brixham Pirates pushed an understrength Torbay Academy 2 team all the way in a top of the second division encounter, but eventually went down 4-6, Szymon Furgol doing the damage for the Academy side. Andy Tyrrell and Jim McIvor were unbeaten as NA Eagles defeated Denbury Tykes 8-2. Marldon just edged a middle of the table clash with the Taverners, winning 6-4.  Brixham Trawlers 7-3 win at Newton Abbot over the Falcons has eased their relegation fears.

Just two points separate the top two in the third division with Torbay Academy 3 having the two points advantage over Marldon Tykes. The Academy 3’s latest victory was a 9-1 win over their clubmates Academy 4, Ben Hoare & Matt Cooper with maximums for the leaders.  A Chris Garner maximum for Marldon Tykes in their 8-2 win over NA Kestrels keeps the pressure on. Matt Cyron and Doug Morgan were unbeaten as NA Hawks, in third place, defeated Brixham Dolphins 9-1.  Man of the match, Bruce Freeman, with another maximum, helped his Dawlish Diamonds to an 8-2 victory over Torbay Academy 5.

Bishopsteignton based Hasbeens have secured the fourth division title following a 9-1 win at Torre over the Tigers.  Mike Coxhead and Alan Tyrrell, unbeaten in their latest encounter, have been well backed up during the season by Mike Wickens and Richard Fitzgerald.  Torre Tigers, with another Chris Harper maximum in their 8-2 victory over NA Owls, have tied up the runners-up spot.  Josh Redfern was in fine form as he helped NA Kites to an 8-2 victory over Torbay Academy 6.  Torre Panthers 9-1 win over Dawlish Drifters means the Dawlish team will end the season at the foot of the table.

Hasbeens – Mike Wickens, Alan Tyrrell, Mike Coxhead

There were big wins in the three fifth division encounters.  Leaders Torbay Academy 7, with Kacper Piwowar and Ivan Vaplaks unbeaten, saw off the challenge from Brixham Swifts, winning 9-1. NA Vultures defeated club mates the Merlins by the same scoreline. Man of the match Quillan Wilson and Andy Guy with maximums for the Vultures. The Brixham Seals team of Kevin Andrews, Adrian Byng and Paul Beckley whitewashed the struggling Dawlish Delights.

In the Dyment Doubles Taverners overcame the handicap to defeat NA Kites. Geoff Read, Colin Harrop and Martin Dilkes had too much experience for the Kites youngsters winning by 37 points.
