2023-24 SEASON 

It’s tight at the top of the first division with the top three teams again all winning well. Torbay Academy 1 and NA Batmen are level with 47 points at the top with NA Buzzards just a point behind. Torbay Academy 1 defeated Halwell A 8-2 with Aarish Maharjan and Alessandro Mitranescu both unbeaten.  It was 8-2 also for NA Batmen who beat clubmates NA Parrots, Rory Harries and Shaun Gibbs with maximums for the Batmen. NA Buzzards went one better and collected 9 points at Brixham as they defeated the Sharks 9-1. Kevin Nicholls and Simon James were unbeaten for the Buzzards.  Halwell A suffered another defeat in their second match of the week as they lost out 3-7 to a NA Condors team helped by a maximum from Mark Morley.

Rory Harries & Naomi Jackson (NA Batmen) v Rhys Lush & Dan Webster-Hall (NA Parrots)

Brixham Trawlers continue to lead the second division table, their latest victory over one of their rivals at the top NA Raptors 7-3. Alan Maynard led the way with an excellent maximum for the Brixham side.  Dawlish Aces climbed above the Raptors into second place with a Jason Prescott inspired 8-2 victory over Torbay Academy 2. The Grove’s Colin Butterworth lost his 100% record to Mike Dummett whose maximum for NA Kestrels was not enough for give the Kestrels their first win of the season. Grove Guerrillas closed out the 6-4 victory thanks to a 16-14 fifth game win in the final doubles.

Joe Edwards & Alan Maynard (Brixham Trawlers) v Paul Hine & Steve Tyler (NA Raptors)

Torre Vikings’ lead at the top of the third division stretched out to eleven points following their 9-1 win at Newton Abbot over the Harriers. Chris Garner and Bill Keywood were undefeated for the Vikings. A Martin Dilkes maximum for Taverners in an 8-2 win against Torbay Academy 4 keeps them in the hunt near the top of the third division table.  Brixham Gulls collected their first win of the season helped by a Nick Williamson maximum as they defeated NA Hawks 7-3.

Just two points separate the top four in the fourth division although the leaders Torbay Academy 5 have played a game less.  The Dawlish Doubtfuls’ team of Peter Chadwick, Marc and Stanley Grim had a 10-0 win over Brixham Seals to take them level at the top with 37 points. NA Merlins suffered a 9-1 defeat to Torbay Academy 6 with Aleksandra Treder and Steve Wilbraham unbeaten for the Academy.
